The Caribbean is already facing the climate crisis: according to the IPCC reports, it impacts all aspects of Caribbean livelihoods. Ecosystems, biodiversity, economies based on tourism, agriculture, infrastructures, freshwater availability, health systems are already affected. Climate change adaptation costs reach billions of dollars – amounts that Caribbean vulnerable economies struggle to meet. A coordinated action is therefore more than necessary. Unite Caribbean’s work is aligned with the Paris Agreement and aims to contribute to the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals 13 “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”, 14 “Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development” and 15 “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss”.
Unite Caribbean works with civil society, public and private actors to promote regional cooperation and best practice sharing to protect ecosystems and increase climate resilience through its consulting and project management services.
We offer consulting services and manage projects in the entire Caribbean basin.
