The Government of the Republic of Haiti, represented by the Ministry of Public Works, Transportation, and Communications (MTPTC), has obtained a grant from the International Development Association (IDA)/World Bank to finance the cost of the Resilient Urban Transport Accessibility Project (RUTAP).

In order to carry out the various activities included in the World Bank’s operations managed by the UCE, the MTPTC has recruited Unite Caribbean to promote and encourage the inclusion of women at all levels of the urban transport sector by aiming for gender equality in this specific field.

Unite Caribbean’s Public Sector Transformation and Economic and Social Development Department – in partnership with Institut de Formation et de Services (IFOS) – has been tasked with the following responsibility under this consultancy:

– Analyse the gaps and barriers to recruitment, retention, and promotion that women face in participating in the urban transport sector; and
– Develop a Gender Action Plan (GAP) with actions and indicators to encourage women’s participation in the urban transport sector.

Developed actions and indicators will inform women’s participation in the urban transport sector at the national level.
