Unite Caribbean, together with EY Global Limited, is developping a study on the inclusion policy of young people with disabilities by 2030 in the French overseas territories.

The overseas territories have different age pyramids which, compared to metropolitan France, show more limited access to resources and an over-representation of certain disabilities in the population. People with disabilities are relatively less well identified and recognised than in mainland France (particularly in French Guyana and Mayotte). It is difficult to have consolidated data on the young disabled public in the overseas territories.

The joint approach of Unite Caribbean and EY Global Limited includes a broad and systemic inventory that will develop a comprehensive understanding of policies for the inclusion of youth with disabilities. This approach will make it possible to divert the issues by territory and the cross-cutting issues and to build an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of strategies for the inclusion of young people with disabilities.
