Description of Unite Caribbean’s mission
- Role of Unite Caribbean
Unite Caribbean has supported local stakeholders in the territorialisation of ecological planning in Guadeloupe. Drawing on its expertise in consultation and territorial development adapted to the Caribbean context, the organisation brought stakeholders together around common, concrete objectives rooted in local realities.
2. Unite Caribbean actions
- Facilitating diagnostic workshops: Unite Caribbean orchestrated in-depth discussions with stakeholders to identify obstacles and opportunities. These collaborative workshops laid the foundations for a shared understanding of the ecological challenges facing Guadeloupe.
- Facilitating workshops to prioritise the roadmap: Using collective intelligence approaches, the organisation mobilised thematic working groups (transport, housing, biodiversity, etc.) to define the priority measures to be included in the roadmap.
- Production of action sheets for the roadmap: Each measure has been detailed in operational sheets specifying objectives, indicators and responsibilities, to ensure that they are implemented in a practical and measurable way.
- Helping to prepare and lead the COP: Unite Caribbean prepared the territorial COP by developing the content and structuring the discussions. At this key event, the team presented the results of the citizen consultation, highlighting the priorities expressed by the people of Guadeloupe.
3. Results
- Start of project: Detailed diagnosis of the obstacles and opportunities, the fruit of inclusive consultation.
- End of the project: A validated ecological transition roadmap 2025-2030, including co-constructed measures, concrete commitments from stakeholders and increased mobilisation around regional priorities.
