Under the RePLAST-OECS Pilot Plastic Recycling Project, Saint Lucia will have
developed a sustainable solution to the issue of plastic pollution and pave the way
for other countries in the OECS region to follow. The endgame of the RePLAST-OECS
Project is an established and seamless system managed through public and private
sector collaboration which:
A business that has chosen to walk the talk of plastic recycling and environmental protection by participating in the RePLAST Incentivized Collection Programme. Rewards Partners contribute towards a monthly pool of vouchers, goods and services which are used to reward people who collect and drop off PET and HDPE beverage containers at assigned RePLAST Collection Points (RCPs) for recycling.
Patrons sign up for a Rewards Card at www.RePLASToecs.com or at a community RCPs.
The Rewards Card is issued, on which points are allocated, based on every pound recycled.
Rewards Partners allocate a monthly quota of vouchers, goods and services into the rewards pool to be included in the market place on the digital platform.
Cardholders go online to redeem their points with a corresponding reward based on availability.
As rewards are processed, the available stock from the Rewards Partner decreases until their monthly quota is exhausted.
The Rewards Partner receives a confirmation email for update of their stock and to facilitate collection of rewards by patrons.
RePLAST Reward Card holders are not exclusive to any single
customer group. They use medical centers, restaurants and
pharmacies. They patronize spas, grooming services and petrol
stations; and they all shop for food and clothing! So any
business or service provider can become a Rewards Partner.
These points will be redeemable at RePLAST Business Partners.
